THE WRONG DOOR

On Halloween, some doors open to somewhere they shouldn’t.

Wintercroft’s Halloween experience for 2026.

A Halloween experience to print, build and bring to life. Make masks, props and decorations from cardboard, with a strange story unfolding around them.

One purchase includes everything released so far, plus the remaining releases through Halloween.

  • First Guest — a large creature with a moving jaw, performed by hand through a doorway.
  • Second Guest — a large wearable mask with a skull held in its jaws.
  • Threshold Charms — hanging skulls, bones and pumpkins.
  • Lantern — a cardboard lantern to carry, hang or display.
  • Start Here — an introductory PDF with household rules, photographs and story fragments.

All released files are available immediately after purchase. The next major release arrives on Friday 16 October and is included.

OUR FIRST GUEST

A large moving creature designed to be performed through a doorway. You control the head and moving jaw by hand while a simple fabric covering conceals the performer.

I love the idea of this waiting just inside the front door when the trick-or-treaters arrive. Open the door and, instead of you, this slowly appears around the frame.

Threshold Charms

Also included in the first release are the Threshold Charms, hanging skulls, bones and pumpkins made to gather around doors, windows and Halloween displays.

They’re simple, repeatable builds designed to spread through the house, around doorways, windows and Halloween displays.

The Second Guest

This one is a large wearable mask, with an almost cat-like face and a skull held in its jaws.

It’s a larger, more detailed build than a standard Wintercroft mask, and a really satisfying one to put together. Unlike our first Guest, this one is made to be worn and taken out into the world.

Lantern

The Lantern has now joined The Wrong Door, a buildable papercraft prop designed to be carried, hung or used as part of a Halloween display.

It works on its own, with a costume, or alongside the other builds as The Wrong Door continues to grow towards Halloween.
