MASKED ADVENTURES IN PHOTOGRAPHY

Ever since the very beginning, we’ve been working with photographers of all styles and experiences in a collaborative way. Most of the amazing projects we’ve been a part of would not have been possible without working together and we’d now love to share some key collaborations that have helped set our path. Explore the varied styles from all over the globe and join us on an inspiring adventure.

FEARLESS PHOTOGRAPHY BY KYLA

Some of the earliest and most iconic imagery associated with Wintercroft was captured by K Fearless Photography and we are forever grateful for its power of propulsion early on. Mysterious and hazy with beautifully built and decorated masks, Kyla’s work evokes authentic, intimate, and emotive tones. Known for her deep explorations into the human condition, it is impossible not to be affected by her imagery. To see Kyla’s most recent work, go here:

THE ANIMAL WITHIN NATALIE FIELD

You might recognise the vivid leaping stag if you have been with us since back in 2015 and to this day the incredible imagery of Natalie Field burns brightly in our mind’s eye. The image is from a Photo and Film Expo that took place in Johannesburg in front of a live audience and the resulting phenomenal photos were achieved using in-camera techniques only and without photo manipulation. WOJTEK’S HANDPAINTED HALLOWEEN

Wojtek London has been a long-term collaborator and friend of ours for some time now. He is an explorer of many mediums and deep dimensions of inspiration. Before the incredible photoshoot with the Jan Masny detailed below, we worked with Wojtek on his Hand Painted Club, in which he and his participants create amazing garments painted by hand. We supplied the masks which you can see modelled in stunning style in the photo above. Wojtek is a prolific and compelling collaborative soul and you can see his latest projects here:

JAN MASNY AND THE ECHELON VOID

What happens when mask makers, photographers, UV painters, models, dancers, writers and laser companies all come together to explore the fathoms of our many realities? This iconic photoshoot goes down as one of our favourites of all time. When close friend and collaborator Wojtek London put together this project, we knew from the brief that it was going to be incredible, and Jan Masny captured this ENTITEE shoot in completely amazing style. Jan is known for his brain-blowing photography in both artistic and commercial projects. You can find out more about his work here:

THE STRIKING PHOTOGRAPHY OF WOLF SILVERI

Austrian photographer Wolf Silveri is known for his beautiful, striking portraits and environmentally conscious photo-art projects. Sharing a similar passion for conservation and using his art as a vehicle to highlight humankind’s impact on our planet, we are thrilled that Wolf loves to shoot with our masks. Like all masters of their medium, his style strikes the balance between immediate identifiability and versatility. You can check out his latest works here:

A LITTLE TROUBLE IN BIG CHINA WITH ANKE LUCKMANN

German photographer, Anke Luckmann is a well-travelled and highly successful master of the medium in both the commercial and artistic disciplines. This incredible photo was taken in China with an amazing free runner donning our mask and hopping on signs, jumping roof-to-roof and balancing on steel beams in the smoggy industrial skyline. We were thrilled to be in contact with Anke during this trip and to see her journalistic updates in imagery day by day. To explore more of project, go to her website here:
